  1. Patrick,
I greatly admire your stretching yourself a bit and taking on this project!
I am very pleased that you are choosing to work with such lively colors that evoke
a sense of joyful cheer when one views them. I must confess that I missed the
brightness and cheer of this painting and the one of the cottage that you just completed in
much of your previous work. As artists, we wish to evoke certain feelings from our viewers
as well as encourage them to sit with our work for a bit and be carried into a magical place
that brings joy to the heart. I applaud your efforts and I so appreciate that you are humble
enough to know yourself and your own style and embrace it. Thank you for being such
a fantastic example to us as an artist and as one who is at peace with themselves and
their abilities as well as pushing the envelop and continuing to embrace new frontiers!

    • Thank you very much for your kind words. I was going down a very dull route with my work. My intention now is to inject a lot more color into my work and see where that takes me. I know one thing, painting with brighter colors certainly lifts my mood 🙂 Thanks again for taking the time to comment. Your post was very interesting.

  2. Love this one! So colorful, and the contrast between the detailed flowers and the out-of-focus flowers is great. I want to try this, but I am definitely apprehensive about it. By the way, those pink flowers are cosmos. I remember when you painted some in the past.

  3. Thanks, Paula. I have just seen your painting in PW. You have painted a beautiful piece of work. The clarity you achieved is what I was looking for in my work. When I painted this painting I had you in mind as I knew you would be able to do it justice, which you have 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to do it. It’s great to see.
