thanks Judy, as I see it a lot of digital art is ‘cartoons’ which I am not interested. My first dream is to learn watercolour painting but the convienience of having my Ipad with me most of the time, especially on our annual flights to USA for 9 hours or more, means I can have a play with trying to produce watercolour ‘style’ mementos of our…[Read more]

Hi all, I just had to post this after I just watched Landscape Artist of the Year.
I recognised the scene immediately as we were in Inveraray last week on holiday and was stood on the same spot. The boat is there but berthed up against the jetty and I took a picture for future reference in my quest to learn Watercolour, however, I am also trying…[Read more]

Nice one Pete particularly as you were probably out your comfort zone. I suspect its not easy to portray night time in watercolour but you have caught the feeling of an evening walk along that quayside. Although I dont paint too well I do take photos with a view to one day painting one so I’ll maybe take some night scenes for future…[Read more]

Hi again, my second effort of the day.
This one was followed along on the SAA website. I got a bit lost at times but again could pause the playback at times.
I have enjoyed my day thanks to the UK weather today though I have to catch up on our allotment tomorrow.

Hi Steve, I also bought the Osmo stand but be aware it only projects in portrait format. I was helped enormously by Pete Batho who was kind enough to send me pics of his set up using a stand he made. I quickly made a prototype and it works a treat. I added a pics of PeteS stand hope this helps.

hi Steve, I am a fairly new beginner not competent in neither drawing or painting.
I have tried drawing and used a grid but my efforts were awful. I decided my main requirement was the learning to paint watercolour so now either trace or more recently Camera Lucida app to hopefully start off with a decent drawing.
In my opinion it is not…[Read more]
