Really delightful! The transparent colours are a good choice for this painting and are harmonious.
Thank you David, I’m feeling better about it now
Lovely and fresh David, also like your treatment of the foreground
Nice work Alex, I agree greens are tricky and can take over a painting, you have left space for light to shine through and this makes your forest work
I think you have done a great job on this and would look lovely framed up. It is scary going darker but you could paint another one and experiment with the darks. It looks like he used oil paint so that would account for the rich colours he achieved.
Thank you mrchirps, lucky you having the original 🙂
Thank you Brad! Looking forward to Spring too!
Thank you K8 for your comments, I decided not to take on the complete reference photo as I felt I would get “lost” with all the green foliage
Well done! A great subject, I wouldnt know where to start! I like both versions equally
I like this painting Alex you have created a great sense of distance
Love this painting Alex, a real change to your usual paintings, its good to try different subjects and your colours are nice and vibrant
Good painting David, well done for putting in figures and I think Paula’s suggestion will help to pull it all together
@DavidG14. I use various brands, W&N, DS, Qor and 2 of my favourite colours from Schminke which are Brilliant red violet and translucent orange which are so vibrant
Attempted Patricks lovely floral, so intricate and detailed I ended up witha very tight painting and a bit overworked!
Alex, your improvement shows in these very tricky landscapes you paint, just keep on going, you are getting better snd better, good points to be noted from K8 and /RL too.
