I’m with Tina, I like the slightly unrealistic look.. It gives the painting a surreal feel..
I also struggle with Patrick’s loose style. What I’ve been playing with is using a flat brush and loading one side/end with a color and the other side/end with a different color.. It lets me create some variation on an area with minimum brush strokes and…
What a great mood you created.. How did you create the white splatter? What colors did you use for the trees?
Very Nice! Great blue range and depth. Looks like several techniques used for this painting.. Excellent
I forgot about the scratched technique.. Works well.. Good job
Great depth, great additional shadow.. Well done
Whale, whale, whale, what do we have here? I love the textures in your background and the shadow line along the foam/splash. Great job!!
Just incredible.. A palette knife with watercolors.. Im with Peter on this one.. 10/10! I want to try that.. Now where did I put my palette knife? I haven’t seen it in 30 years.
The sheen! Or the lack of sheen! OK! Thank you all so much
Very Nice!! 20 minutes.. At my age, it takes me 20 minutes to fill my water basins..
You’re painting is wonderful.. So much expression in a small painting..

Welcome!! Wonderful group here
The painter that inspired me to paint again was ilya ibryaev. His capture of light is amazing.. Every few weeks I paint a partial from his painting and mimic his style. I am much better than the several I tried years ago.. But alas, I can only dream of reaching his watercolor finesse.
I tried a ‘yellow’ version..
Great colors and brightness.. Brushos, very interesting
Wow! This is Great! You certainly have a flair with pastels..
Welcome aboard.. you can certainly be proud of that artwork.. Good Job
Both are terrific.. You have a wonderful style.. I actually tried to use the spray bottle in my left hand on the “Brushless” paintings.. It was Soooo funny. But I had a great laugh
