Somehow watercolor and flowers are well suited to one another, and you have done a wonderful job with this day lily. I like the depth of color and the way the petals curve around to reveal the underside.
I haven’t posted anything in a while. I was about to throw this one in the trash, but then used cobalt blue on the yellow flowers to create some shadows. It did the trick! Who would have thought that painting blue onto yellow would make something look more yellow?
The sky is great, and the looseness factor is good. Maybe the greens could have been a little less gray and a little more vibrant to match the intensity of the sky. I’m trying to work on a looser style, too…not easy for sure!
