Jezzy, I don’t doubt your word and dedication to learning watercolors. You obviously have an innate talent that’s enviable. That second image is superb. The rose is one of the hardest things to paint in my opinion and although I have some experience, I still cannot produce a satisfactory painting of one.
This is quite skillfully executed, and I truly find it hard to believe you haven’t been painting for years!

Looks great, Robert! At first glance, he appears to be a much younger man than the subject. His face is fuller. I imagine once more definition and shadows go in, we’ll see the defined cheekbones and somewhat sunken jowls. Just an observation.
And this from someone who stinks at portraiture!
