Beautiful! The colors in a kingfisher are magnificent and you have certainly captured them.
Your rose is fabulous! I have done one blind contour drawing in my life, and was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out! Your painting skills are excellent!
Excellent – feathers are another of those difficult things! You have done a great job here.
Gorgeous – the colors are so vibrant, and it’s a happy painting!
It’s looking great! I would not have the patience to do this as you do – I’m in awe!
Don’t the name of this one.
Beautiful! This is called a Kingfisher here in the US – a beautiful bird in incredible colors. You did a great job!
Your Dad’s comment is so good!! I think you have done a pretty good job here. I agree with Judy, your proportions seem about right, and that is the most important part. Well done for trying this hard one!
Why would you be embarrassed? This is wonderful and the colors, while not necessarily what you would normally use, are just right. Your boat is perfect!
I like it, even at this stage! Love to see your process.
Did this one as a quick sketch on the back of another painting. Decided to go with it!
Used the cheap paint box again for this one!
Love them! Color is perfect!
Beautiful little bird – I agree – he needed color, and you nailed it.
Welcome, Pam – you did a lovely job on the tutorial. Post some of your other work when you feel ready!
This is a lovely painting – a simplified palette stops all the fiddling and the result is really nice.
Thanks K8 and Annette – who knew? I still don’t like painting the whole figure, but the faces are getting easier, thanks to studying Robert’s amazing portraits.
Don’t know why you’re not proud of this one – it’s a lovely, loose sketch. Well done!
