This was a very quick sketch 20-30 min in my moleskine sketchbook. Sky is awful but I’m pretty happy with the rest. English red is one of my favorite Earth pigments. Has very nice hue. Turns out I still have 13 sheets in this book. I guess I’m stuck with it for another year or so.

My next sketchbook will be from cheap joes. Kilimanjaro black watercolor travel journal. 25 sheets of real 140lb cold press paper. Finally something good.

I like this.  It reminds me of a trip I took to NM a while back—well, a very long while back!  Your greens are good, very natural looking. And the shadow on the wall is a nice touch.

Thanks Paula and Brad! I’ve tried to paint on real paper same scene but turned out dead looking painting.
