    Happy New Year, everyone!

This painting is based on a You Tube video by Eva Nichols.  I used Alizarin Crimson, Prussian blue, Permanent Rose, Quin Magenta, and Quin Gold. ( I didn’t have the colors she suggested.)  Just wondering…should I lighten up some of the shadows?

I suppose design wise you could lighten the upper left to middle for more mid-tone value. But, I definitely don’t think it’s necessary. Your darker darks and lighter lights are spot on. It’s so nice the way it is. IF you decide to lighten, you could just try a corner first; just apply gingerly some water, let sit a bit and blot gently. I wouldn’t do any scrubbing.

In short, it lovely as is

<p style=”text-align: left;”>This is lovely Paula.  It looks lifelike.  Very neatly painted with pretty colors.  What did you mix to get the soft greens?</p>
Happy New Year to you, too .
