Today I’ve been playing around with different ways to sketch faces. Note that I am not aiming for perfect representation of a subject, but rather a way to sketch people quickly with few tools. So here I’ve used red and blue watercolor pencils (I did the drawing in red watercolor pencil and added the blue later). Then I used burnt umber for the skin shadows, which blended into the red pencil. In the end I added a little ink and a couple of highlights. I’ll play around with other color combinations and different media. It’s done on simple cartridge paper, so nothing fancy here, and I’m just sketching TV characters while watching series in bed. This is from the show Kidding.
